      Postural yoga is a branch of Hatha Yoga based on a predominantly static, meticulous and therapeutic practice. When we provide a motor stimulus, the central nervous system modifies the body in response.
      In postural yoga this stimulus lasts longer, is combined with conscious breathing, and science tells us that stimuli maintained beyond 90 seconds modify the fibrous tissue of the muscular fascia, with direct effects on the shape of the body and on emotional experience.

      It is an activity that works on postural realignment through mobility, flexibility and stability exercises, making the body less rigid, stronger and more capable of facing daily life.

      We must never forget that posture also represents a true mirror of each person’s inner balance: practising postural yoga does not bring benefits exclusively on a physical level, but also exerts a profound effect on a psycho-emotional level.

      Yoga and science: what the research says


      In recent years, scientific research has confirmed what yoga practitioners experience every day on the mat. The regular practice of Hatha Yoga produces measurable benefits across multiple areas:ecent scientific research has revealed that within programs designed to promote the mental and physical well-being of those with established pathologies, Hatha Yoga is a useful, practical, and valid tool.

      • Posture and flexibility: improvement in anthropometric characteristics and joint mobility (Cheung et al., 2014, 2017)
